The leadership of the Council consist of the four Executive Officers. In addition, the executive officers with other Junior Common Room (JCR) executives of the various JCRs form the Executive Committee. The Executive committee is the highest decision-making body at the executive level. The four Executives Officers are:




The office of the President is by law the highest student office in the University. The SRC President is the chief spokesperson of all students in the university. He is also mandated to pursue solely the interest of the general student body without any form of discrimination. His Excellency Isaac Agyemang is currently the president of the University of Ghana Students’ Representative Council. He took over from His Excellence Sylvester Owusu Amoako who served as the president for the 2018/2019. H.E Isaac Agyemang is a hardworking individual with good organizational skills, an eye for creativity and possess problem-solving skills. He is a level 400 Political Science and Archaeology student of the University and a former resident of Mensah Sarbah Hall. He is a product of Benkum Senior High School




His Excellency Louis Banahene Owusu occupies the second-highest position of the student front. Per position, he is the second in command whose mandate among other things is to assist the president in the discharge of his duties. H.E Banahene is a level 500 medical student of the University of Ghana Medical School. He is a former student of Mfantsipem Senior High School. He succeeded H.E Adom Anokwah and is currently a resident of Elizabeth Frances Sey Hall.




The office of the SRC General Secretary is the administrative head of the council. She is also known as the secretary to the Executive Committee. The Office of the Secretary among other things has the function of communicating to the general student body, at least once every month when school is in session on the welfare of students.

Denise Kagal Abaniaba is the current UGSRC General Secretary. She was sworn in, in July 2019 after emerging victorious in the SRC elections which were held in June 2019. She took over from Ms. Cornelia Djorjome.  Her tenure will expire in 2020. Ms. Abaniaba is a level 400 Political Science and Archaeology Student of the University of Ghana. She is a resident of the Jean Nelson Aka Hall. Ms. Denise Kagal Abaniaba is a result-oriented young lady with great communication and human relations skills. She is a product of Accra Girls Senior High School where she received four years of education which propelled her for this great office in the University.




The Office of the treasure is one of the offices created by the SRC constitution to carry out all financial transactions of the SRC in order to ensure effective and efficient use of money.

Ms. Philomena Sarbah Andam is the SRC treasurer for the 2019/2020 academic year. She took over from Mr. Smith. Sarbah Andam as known by the student populace is a level 400 student of the University of Ghana Business school and a resident of Mensah Sarbah Hall. She is an integrity-driven individual whose aim is to contribute to the development of Africa through the demonstration of stainless integrity. She is a proud old student of Wesley Girls’ High School, Cape Coast.
