Gifty Gyamah Nyante is a Lecturer at the Department of Physiotherapy, School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences, University of Ghana. She holds a PhD in Physiotherapy from the Coventry University, United Kingdom, and professional qualifications in General Nursing and Midwifery. Mrs. Nyante obtained her first and post graduate degrees in Physiotherapy from the Hogeschool Van Amsterdam, The Netherlands and University of Cape Town, South Africa respectively. Dr Nyante has also pursued a six-month course on Clinical Neuro-rehabilitation at the University of Michigan
She has 11 years of teaching and research experience in the university with a strong background in maternal and child related issues.

Her research interests are in Childhood disabilities with special focus on Cerebral Palsy, Rehabilitation and qualitative research. Some of the current research Gifty Nyante is currently undertaking include the development and validation of a rehabilitation model for children with cerebral palsy in selected rural communities in Ghana, Prevalence of cerebral palsy in the Shia- Osudoku district in the Greater Accra Region, Ghana and Prevalence of Developmental Motor Coordination among Basic School Children in Accra.

Two of her most recently completed researches are Exploration of the experiences of caregivers of children with cerebral palsy who have never received rehabilitation care and evaluating the impact of a community –based parent-training programme for children with Cerebral Palsy in Ghana, where she was a Principal investigator and a Co-researcher in Ghana respectively. The research was done in collaboration with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Studies, University of Ghana, CBM and Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
