The Department of Nutrition and Food Science, University of Ghana, proudly celebrates the promotion of Prof. Angela Parry-Hanson Kunadu to the rank of Full Professor, a significant milestone in her academic journey and a proud moment for the Department she currently leads as Head.
Prof. Parry-Hanson Kunadu is a food microbiologist and food safety researcher whose work addresses important challenges across food systems in Ghana and beyond. Her research spans foodborne pathogens, food hygiene, traditional and indigenous foods, food handling practices, and approaches to improving food safety.
Through her research and collaborations, she continues to demonstrate the practical importance of Food Science in addressing challenges from food production and processing to preparation and consumption.
Beyond her research, Prof. Parry-Hanson Kunadu has contributed to teaching, student mentorship and academic service at the University of Ghana. As Head of the Department of Nutrition and Food Science, she provides academic and administrative leadership while working with faculty, staff and students to advance the Department’s teaching, research and service mandates.
Her promotion to Full Professor reflects her sustained contributions to scholarship, teaching, research, mentorship and academic leadership. It is also a moment of pride for the Department and an opportunity to celebrate the expertise and commitment of its faculty.
