UG Holds Special Remembrance Prayers for Departed Muslim Members

In remembering Muslim members of the University community who passed during the academic year, a special remembrance prayer was held at the Legon Central Mosque.

The solemn gathering, led by Imam Abubakari Baba, offered intercessory prayers for the repose of the departed souls, asking Allah to grant them Jannatul Firdaus. The Imam also expressed appreciation to the University for its continued support to the Muslim community and its efforts in promoting unity and inclusion on campus.

Following the conclusion of the prayers, the Vice-Chancellor and Imam Abubakari Baba toured the site of the new University Mosque to inspect progress of work.

They expressed satisfaction with the level of progress and commended the contractor and project team for their dedication. When completed, the new mosque will provide a modern and spacious place of worship to serve the growing Muslim community on campus.
