State-Of-The-Art Video Conference Facility for School of Graduate Studies

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor in charge of Research, Innovation and Development (ORID), Prof. John Gyapong, has inaugurated a new state-of-the art video conference facility at the School of Graduate Studies (SGS).

Prof. Gyapong commended the Dean of the Graduate School, Prof. Kwadwo Ofori and the Building Stronger Universities (BSU) coordinating team for collaborating with the Office of Research, Innovation and Development (ORID) to ensure the successful completion of the project and entreated the Graduate School to use the facility to enhance effective PhD training programmes.

The Project Consultant, Mr. Kwesi Amoa-Buahin, noted that the conference facility would accommodate a total of 20 people. He said the two large screens was for presentations and video-conferencing, adding that the equipment operates on a good bandwidth, has viber and audio capabilities and as well supports podcasting. This he noted will enhance interactivity between lecturers and students irrespective of distance and time. He added that the machine has 20 minutes back up ability to withstand power fluctuation.

The Dean of School of Graduate Studies, Prof. Kwadwo Ofori, said the facility was important to aid effective teaching and as such would be put to a good use. He thanked Prof. Gyapong for the support and making available to the Graduate School modern ways of teaching and knowledge sharing. He also thanked the Consultant for completing the project as scheduled.

Present at the inauguration  of the conference facility were the Director of Research, ORID, Prof. Andrew Anthony Adjei, the Senior Assistant Registrar of the Graduate School, Mr. John Kromoah, Prof. Robert Hinson, a Professor of Marketing at the Business School, and member of the  BSU Coordinating team,  who coordinated the ceremony s well as staff of the Graduate School.
