Prof. Charlotte Wrigley-Asante Appointed as Scientific Advisory Board Member of RFIEA Foundation

Prof. Charlotte Wrigley-Asante, Head of the Department of Geography and Resource Development 

Prof. Charlotte Wrigley-Asante, Head of the Department of Geography and Resource Development at the University of Ghana, has been appointed as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Network of French Institutes for Advanced Study (Fondation Reseau Francais des Institutes D’etudes Avances - RFIEA Foundation).

The seven-member board comprises International scholars.

Prof. Charlotte Wrigley Asante will serve for a renewable 4 year mandate with an overall mission of advising the Board of Trustees on the advanced study and implementation of the Joint Scientific Project.

The main mission of the Scientific Advisory Board is to help with the pre-selection of fellows in seven partnering institutes located in Aix-Maeseille, Lyon, Montpellier, Nantes, Orleans, Paris and Rennes.

The fellowship programme is being supported by the French National Research Agency and the European Commission. The awarded fellowships give the status of a Marie Skolodowska-Curie scholar which is a highly recognised scientific distinction.

In a congratulatory letter, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah-Amfo extended her warmest compliments to Prof. Charlotte Wrigley-Asante on her appointment and stated that, this depicts her unwavering support and commitment towards academic and professional pursuit in her field. She indicated that the appointment is an opportunity for Prof. Wrigley-Asante to utilise her experience gained while working with University of Ghana for the benefit of the Scientific Advisory Board and the Network of French Institutes for Advanced Study by extension.
