ORID Empowers Radio Univers with Broadcasting Equipment for Enhanced Academic Programming

The Office of Research, Innovation and Development (ORID) has generously donated state-of-the-art broadcasting equipment to Radio Univers (105.7 FM) in a bid to elevate the Station's capabilities. Led by Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Felix Ankomah Asante, ORID delivered a broadcasting server, a video mixer, a still camera and a video camera to the campus-based broadcaster.

The donation, presented at a brief ceremony in the seminar room of ORID, is geared towards enhancing the broadcasting proficiency of Radio Univers. The initiative aims to strengthen the Station's role in promoting the University's research agenda through consistent programming that shares valuable research findings with both the University community and the wider public.

Prof. Asante, emphasising the significance of supporting units such as Radio Univers, underscored the alignment of this donation with ORID's broader mission of driving research, innovation and development across diverse academic disciplines. He was hopeful that the equipment will also enhance the partnership between Radio Univers and the Public Affairs Directorate to increase publicity on research and innovation projects in the University.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor also encouraged researchers to participate and share their findings through the collaborative research-based on-air programme named the "Research and Innovation Agenda". He called on researchers to make use of this opportunity and support the Station.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of Radio Univers, Station Manager Dr. Abubakari Sidick Ahmed, highlighted the potential impact of the equipment on the Station's ability to produce high-quality content, engage with the audience and serve as a valuable educational resource.

Dr. Ahmed further appealed to Management for assistance in refurbishing the Station's new building, a move that would significantly contribute to its evolution into a broadcasting service centre.
