GCB Bank Plc to Fund Construction of Ultra-Modern Paediatric Unit at UG Hospital

A delegation from GCB Bank PLC has met with Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo and other senior officials of the University, to announce their intention to fund the construction of a Paediatric Unit at the University of Ghana Hospital. 

In her opening remarks, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo expressed her gratitude for the gesture and pledged the University’s commitment to the proposed project. She suggested that in order for the project to be completed on time, a joint project management team must be formed to begin discussions on the project's start date.

Mr. Emmanuel Ofori-Dankwa, Head SSD, GCB Bank PLC disclosed that, ‘our Board of Directors have given us the mandate to engage the University and see how we can move the conversation forward.’  In discussing the project's execution timelines, Mr. Ofori-Dankwa stated that, barring any unforeseen occurrences, the construction of the project is expected to take about a year and a half. He expressed the belief that once a contractor is engaged, the physical structure can begin.
