The leadership of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA - UG Chapter), has presented ten laptops to support the Vice-Chancellor's One Student One Laptop (1S1L) initiative, at a brief ceremony.
Making the presentation to Prof. Gordon Awandare, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs, Mr. Philip Quaye, Vice-President of GAUA (UG), indicated the donation is the Association's contribution to enhancing the student experience on campus through digitalisation.
Receiving the laptops on behalf of Management, Prof. Gordon Awandare, commended GAUA for supporting the vision of producing technologically adept students. He also seized the opportunity to inform the delegation about the two other initiatives: the Classroom Modernisation Project and the construction of Hotspot Comfort Zones, both under the VC’s digitalisation agenda.
Prof. Peter Quartey, Chairman of the ‘1S1L Implementation Committee’ and Director of the Institute of Statistical, Social, and Economic Research (ISSER), expressed gratitude to the GAUA - UG Chapter on behalf of the student beneficiaries, noting that the donation will tremendously impact their studies.
In brief remarks, the Registrar, Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah lauded the efforts of the Association in supporting the student experience to ensure they can compete with other students from any other part of the world. She charged GAUA - UG Chapter to continue mobilising resources, to contribute to the other aspects of the digitalisation initiative.

The presentation ceremony was moderated by Dr. Elizier T. Ameyaw-Buronyah, Director, Public Affairs Directorate; and witnessed by Mrs. Arhizah Blay-Abiti, Senior Assistant Registrar, Office of the Vice-Chancellor; Mrs. Maamie Hutchful-Nortey, Secretary,1S1L Implementation Committee.
