Ecobank Ghana Completes Pledge to Support University of Ghana’s “One Student, One Laptop” Initiative with 300 Laptops

Ecobank Ghana has fulfilled its three-year commitment by handing the final batch of 100 brand new laptops to the University, bringing the Bank’s total contribution over the past three years to 300 laptops; an impressive feat that underscores the bank’s dedication to the university’s transformative vision. Earlier donations included the first batch of 100 laptops in April 2023 and the second batch of 100 in May 2024.

This effort under the VC’s “One Student, One Laptop” initiative, will provide brilliant students with limited resources, with vital digital tools to enhance their academic experience and prepare them for a competitive global environment.

Mrs. Abena Osei-Opoku, Managing Director of Ecobank Ghana, emphasised the importance of digital inclusion, stating, “Access to technology is no longer a luxury but a fundamental right for students. Our support for this initiative reflects our commitment to education, youth development and building a digitally empowered society.”
