Confucius Institute Receives Donation of a 100-kilowatt Generator

Jingdoli Industry and Trade (Ghana) Co. Ltd has donated a 100-kilowatt generator to the University of Ghana's Confucius Institute.

Presenting the generator, Miss Amy Huang, Assistant to the Manager of the Company, highlighted the challenges posed by power outages at the Confucius Institute, affecting the smooth conduct of examinations and cultural programmes for Chinese teachers and learners.

Expressing the Company's staunch advocacy for International Chinese education and the bolstering of their country's influence, Ms. Huang emphasised their commitment to aiding the development of the Confucius Institute. 

According to her, the donation of the generator also serves as a gesture to the Institute, as it celebrates its tenth anniversary.

Prof. Wang Jimin, the Chinese Director of the Institute, expressed profound gratitude upon receiving the donation from Jingdoli Industry and Trade (Ghana) Co., Ltd. He stressed that beyond its material value, the donation symbolises a significant form of encouragement and also exemplifies the collective care and support for Chinese culture from diverse spheres, serving as inspiration for the Institute to persistently strive in the preservation and propagation of Chinese culture.

Prof. Jimin added that, “the use of this generator will not only provide a stable power supply for the Confucius Institute and ensure the smooth progress of various activities, but also show our firm support for cultural exchange. Today, when we look at this brand-new generator, we should be deeply aware of the friendship and cooperation it conveys.”

Prof. Clement Appah, Ghanaian Director of the Institute, in a short remark, conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the Company for their generous gesture. He assured that the donated 100-kilowatt generator would be utilised precisely for the intended purpose, reaffirming the Institute's commitment to ensuring its effective and beneficial use in addressing power challenges and enhancing educational initiatives.

Also in an attendance at the brief presentation ceremony were Mr. Shenbin Fan and Mr. Qindi Li from Jingdoli Industry and Trade (Ghana) Co. Ltd; Mr. Gangqiang Zhao Mr. Weitao Xiang and Mr. Li Shang all from Confucius Institute, University of Ghana.
