Clooney Foundation for Justice Explores Partnership with UG to Promote Gender Justice and Empower Young Women Lawyers

Representatives from the Clooney Foundation for Justice (CFJ) paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo to explore collaborations that promote gender justice and support early-career women lawyers.
Lorraine Smith Van Lin, Head of Fellowships, CFJ, and Stacy Tang, Programme Associate, CFJ, discussed partnership opportunities through the Waging Justice for Women Fellowship, a programme that empowers young women lawyers across Africa to advance equality and accountability for women and girls.

The Vice-Chancellor commended the Foundation’s work and noted that its focus on gender justice and women’s empowerment aligns perfectly with the University’s commitment to promoting equity, leadership and opportunities for women across all disciplines.
Prof. Amfo also expressed optimism that the potential partnerships will create meaningful opportunities for young female law students in the University.

Also present at the meeting were the Registrar, Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah and the Director of Public Affairs, Dr. (Mrs.) Elizier Taiba Ameyaw-Buronyah.
