Centre for Migration Studies Launches 20th Anniversary Celebrations, Hosts International Conference on Free Movement in Africa

The Centre for Migration Studies (CMS), University of Ghana, has launched its 20th Anniversary celebrations and hosted a three-day International Conference on Free Movement in Africa, marking two decades of scholarship, training and policy engagement in migration studies on the continent.

The opening ceremony, held at the ISSER Conference Facility, was formally officiated by the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, in the presence of senior university management and distinguished guests.

The event brought together Ministers of State, representatives of diplomatic missions, leaders of international organisations, development partners, academics, policymakers, alumni and students of the Centre, creating a multidisciplinary platform for dialogue on migration, governance and social transformation in Africa.
