A Procurement Process Familiarisation and Relationship-Building session was held on 8th January 2026 with the Dean of the School of Biological Sciences, Prof. Francis Gbogbo and senior management of the school including the School Administrator and Heads of Departments as part of the College-wide stakeholder engagement initiative. The venue was the School of Biological Sciences Conference room.
The session was led by the Dean, Prof. Francis Gbogbo (Center left), and recorded a strong turnout, reflecting the School’s commitment to understanding and strengthening procurement practices.
The session was facilitated by Ms. Elizabeth Borley Amoah (Center), College Logistics and Procurement Officer, and focused on introducing the procurement function, clarifying approved procurement procedures, and strengthening awareness of roles and responsibilities across the procurement lifecycle. Key areas covered included procurement planning, requisition and approval processes, sourcing and tendering methods, documentation requirements, compliance with institutional and regulatory frameworks, and common procurement challenges.
The engagement was highly interactive, providing participants with the opportunity to ask questions, share practical experiences, and seek clarification on procurement issues relevant to their departments. Emphasis was placed on the importance of early engagement with the Procurement Unit to enhance efficiency, ensure compliance, and achieve value for money.
The active participation and constructive feedback from staff enriched the session and provided valuable insights that will inform continuous improvement of procurement processes and stakeholder support.
The Procurement Unit expresses its appreciation to the Dean, Heads of Departments, and the entire team of the School of Biological Sciences for their cooperation and active participation and looks forward to sustained collaboration.
