UG@75 Christian Thanksgiving Service/Muslim Prayers

Following Management's approval, August 11, 2023 has been dedicated to observe a Thanksgiving Service (Christian Service and Muslim Prayers) to climax the UG@75 anniversary celebrations. 

While appreciating the contribution and effort of all stakeholders, we recognize God's divine providence and sustenance in the Affairs of the University. 

Faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of UG are cordially invited to join the thanksgiving programmes scheduled as follows: 

Christian Service

Time: 10 am 

Venue: Cedi Conference Centre 

Preacher: Prof. Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, President, Trinity Theological Seminary 

Music: UG Jubilee Choir, Gramophone Chorus, Department of Music Brass Band etc. 

The President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo together with Principal Officers of the University will be in attendance. 

Muslim Prayers

Time: 2:00 pm 

Venue: Legon Central Mosque 

Sermon: Shaikh Armiyau Shuaib, Spokesperson, National Chief Imam  

Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas, a Ghanaian politician, lawyer, diplomat and academic will join leading Muslim Clerics and Principal Officers of the University for the prayers. 

 

Official Dress Code: UG@75 cloth 

Members of the University community and the general public are kindly requested to mark their calendars and plan to participate. 

 

NB:

There will be an exhibition of all past UG@75 Programmes at the foyer of the Cedi Conference Centre and another at the Sam Aboah Recreational Quadrangle showcasing the beautiful biodiversity and landscape of the University after the church service.
