About

Dr. Usman Kojo Abonyi is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Educational Studies and Leadership at the University of Ghana (UG). He holds a PhD in Education with specialization in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Canberra, Australia. Prior to joining UG in 2018, Usman served as a Teacher and Personnel Officer in the Ghana Education Service for nearly ten years. He has occupied a range of leadership roles in the University including Departmental Examination Officer, Member of School Management Committee, and a Hall Tutor. He has supported the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) in a number of Programme Accreditation exercises in some public Universities in Ghana and also served as a member of the Research Team that developed a Comprehensive School Safety Policy for the Government of Sierra Leonne in 2022. Usman is an international reviewer for a number of internationally reputable journals including International Journal of Leadership in Education; Educational Management, Administration, and Leadership; Research in Educational Administration and Leadership; Cogent Social Sciences; Cogent Education; and Human Resource Management International.
