About

Dr. Doreen Ahwireng holds a Ed.D in Educational Administration and a M.A in International Studies from Ohio University, Ohio, U.S. She received her Bachelor of Education in Social Studies from University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Dr. Ahwireng teaches master’s courses in Inclusive Education, Gender and Leadership and Qualitative Research Methods in Education. She also advocates for children with disability to be educated with typical students in the mainstream educational system. Dr. Doreen Ahwireng was part of a six member team that worked on a UNESCO funded project on Ghana’s Internet Universality Indicators in 2021. She has worked with a group of researchers on a World Bank funded project to develop a Comprehensive School Safety policy for the Ministry of Education in Sierra Leone. Dr. Ahwireng is currently working with a group of researchers on increasing access to education for children with disability which is funded by Jacobs Foundation.
