The 21st "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Language Competition in Ghana receives a big success

“One world, one family”. On the morning of May 28th, the 21st “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for World College Students was successfully held online in Ghana. The Chinese Bridge competition is a worldwide competition, organized in Ghana by the Confucius Institute at the University of Ghana. Samuel Ohemeng and Ayawuli Richmond, students from the Confucius Institute at the University of Ghana, won respectively the grand prize and the first prize of the Ghana Regional Competition. They will represent Ghana to participate in the final competition in China.

“The Chinese Bridge” is a bridge of cultures, friendship and hearts that connects the world. Since its establishment in 2014, the Confucius Institute at the University of Ghana has successfully held nine "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competitions for International College Students, and students of Confucius Institute at the University of Ghana have won the grand prize and first prize for nine consecutive times. The grand prize winner will be awarded a scholarship and the opportunity to study in China.

With the theme of "We are the World", this year's Chinese Bridge Competition was divided into three parts: personal speech, talent show and quiz. After the preliminary audition and talent competition, 11 contestants stood out and participated in the knowledge question and answer session in the morning. In the end, they won the special prize, first prize, second prize, third prize and excellence award respectively.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Ghana would like to convey its deep appreciation to judges and guests from all walks of life in Ghana's politics, business and academic circles, for their support in relation to the competition. The active participation of universities in Ghana, the hard work of teachers and the active preparation of contestants have also ensured the success of the competition.
