Overview
The four-year doctoral programme in Biochemistry is designed to train highly skilled scientists capable of addressing complex biochemical, biomedical, and health-related challenges and assuming leadership roles in academia, research institutions, industry, and the public and private sectors. The programme provides advanced training in cutting-edge laboratory and computational research, integrating approaches in biochemistry, computational biology, and systems biology across areas such as cell biology, drug discovery, and host-pathogen interactions. It also promotes research on issues of national importance, collaboration with bioscience-based industries and research institutions, and the provision of consultancy and advisory services. Graduates will be equipped for careers in research, academia, clinical and quality assurance laboratories, industry, and government institutions, while contributing to community development in the areas of health, agriculture, industry, and the environment.
