About the Head of Department
Assoc. Prof. Theresa Manful Gwira serves as Head of the Department of Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Ghana, Legon. With a robust academic background and a passion for research, she plays a pivotal role in advancing the Department's mission of excellence in education and scientific inquiry.
Holding a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Heidelberg, she has established a prominent reputation in the field of animal African trypanosomiasis and leishmaniasis. Her research contributions have significantly advanced understanding of the management of these diseases, earning recognition in the scientific community.
She has published extensively in leading scientific journals, reinforcing her role as a thought leader in molecular parasitology and tropical diseases.
