The Academic Affairs Directorate wishes to inform the general public that the Extended Amnesty Programme is currently in its final year. This programme provides an opportunity for undergraduate students whose studentships have elapsed to re-sit outstanding or failed courses and fulfil graduation requirements. The extension, which spans the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic years, is presently in the first semester of its concluding year. Eligible students are strongly advised to take advantage of this opportunity before the programme ends.
Eligibility
Applicants must be final-year undergraduate students of the University of Ghana who were expected to graduate between the 2000/2001 and 2020/2021 academic years but were unable to do so due to the expiration of their studentship.
Please find below the application process for Prospective General Amnesty:
1. Registration of Courses
Registration for the First Semester 2025/2026 academic year will open from Monday, December 22, 2025 - Friday, January 23, 2026.
Applicants are required to register their outstanding/failed courses using the students’ portal (STS).
University of Ghana Student ID Number and MIS Web PIN will be required. Click here if you have no ID number and/or PIN
Applicants are to visit the relevant Departments with proof of registration for information on arrangements regarding registered courses prior to the start of the semester. The academic calendar for the first semester can be viewed by clicking this link.
2. Deadline for Amnesty Course Registration
The deadline for course registration for the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year is: Friday, January 23, 2026.

4. Provisional Identification Cards
Participants should visit their colleges after the course registration to pick up provisional ID cards at no cost.

6. Expectations
a. Participants are required to fully participate in lectures for registered course(s) to be allowed to undertake examination(s).
b. Participants are to abide by the University of Ghana Regulations for Junior Members 2017.
PLEASE NOTE:
- You will not be allowed to write examination if you do not:
- contact your department for the course outline
- attend lectures
- write Interim Assessment (IA).
- You are not allowed to register for supplementary re-sit examinations.
- Those who did not complete their final year studies do not qualify to register for amnesty.
