Current teaching areas include: Introduction to Sociology, Sociological Theory, Sociology of Law, Political Sociology, Sociology of Development, Sociology of Media and Communication, and Sociology of the Aged/Social Gerontology.
AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION & CURRENT RESEARCH:
Major areas are sociology of development, development communication, sociological theory, sociology of the aged/social gerontology and sociology of law. Current research areas: the state and development in Africa, neo-liberalism and political democratization, women and political participation, women’s welfare and rights, mobile telephony and internet in scientific communications among researchers/scientists in the developing world. Current collaborative research mobile phones and internet and research collaboration among scientists in Ghana, Kenya and India—called The World Science Project. The World Science Project is sponsored by the National Science Foundation, USA; website: worldsci.net.
