In 2009, the University of Ghana, in collaboration with AngloGold Ashanti Limited, established the Kwame Nkrumah Chair in African Studies. The overarching role of this Chair is to honour Dr. Kwame Nkrumah for his significant intellectual contributions and for his vision and commitment to the liberation and development of Africans on the continent and in the Diaspora; and to advance research, teaching and the public promotion of Africana Studies.
The Chair has had three distinguished occupants namely, Professor Kofi Anyidoho, Professor Jacob U. Gordon, and Professor Horace Campbell who were installed in February 2011, February 2013 and February 2017 respectively.
All are cordially invited to this special ceremony.
