Progress in Education Supports UG Students with GHS38,000 Financial Aid Package

As part of its annual financial commitment towards the Students Financial Aid Office (SFAO), U.S.-based non-profit organisation Progress in Education (PIE) has donated GHS38,000 to support brilliant students with limited resources.

This intervention will cater to four continuing students already on the scholarship and five new beneficiaries.

At a brief event, the Head of SFAO, Ms. Selina Torrison Saaka, stated that the scheme fills a critical gap left by traditional scholarships as it offers one-time grants to students in dire situations, allowing timely intervention when it matters most.

“We encounter many students with pressing financial issues that our existing scholarships cannot address immediately. This intervention allows us to respond quickly and ensures that students are able to continue their studies without any interruptions” she added.

A representative from Progress in Education, Mr. John Davis, highlighted the organisation’s long-standing commitment to education and its evolving approach to support.

“We are a group of individuals based in the United States who have been supporting students for many years,” he said. “Our aim is to help as many students as we can, especially those who are unable to support themselves,” she added.

“The responsibility now lies with you to work hard, achieve good grades and make the donors proud,” he said. “Your success will encourage continued support for others.”
