Higher Education Administrators Challenged to Lead with Vision and Purpose at 2025 Registrar’s Seminar

Speakers at the two-day intensive and engaging 2025 Registrar’s Seminar, spearheaded by the Registrar of the University of Ghana, Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah, have called on higher education administrators to demonstrate transformational leadership capable of inspiring vision and driving meaningful change across institutions.

They detailed that the current higher education landscape demands visionary, ethical and innovative leaders who can effectively respond to evolving institutional and societal needs.

Among the speakers were Prof. Justice N. Bawole, former Dean of the University of Ghana Business School; Mrs. Victoria M. P. Kunbuor, Registrar of GIMPA and Mr. James Ebo Whyte, renowned Ghanaian playwright and leadership development advocate.

The seminar featured sessions on a range of topics, including leadership and management, implementation of the University of Ghana Strategic Plan, operationalisation of strategic plans, inspiring visions, enhancing customer service for excellent stakeholder experience, work-life balance, nutrition and stress management and strengthening university-industry alliances to develop industry-ready graduates.

Participants were drawn from the University of Ghana, University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and the University for Development Studies (UDS), Tamale.

The seminar created a dynamic platform for reflection, capacity building and experience sharing with the purpose of empowering university administrators to lead with excellence and purpose in an ever-evolving higher education environment.
