“My Inauguration Signified Hope for Young Women” - Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo in DAAD@100 Feature Series

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, a DAAD alumna, has acknowledged the optimism and hope her appointment in 2021 brought to young women across Ghana and beyond.
The Vice-Chancellor, who participated in events marking 100 years of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Ghana and Germany this year, shared her reflections in an interview with Gemma Pörzgen of DAAD as part of the DAAD@100 feature series. Prof. Amfo spoke about her journey as the first woman to lead Ghana’s premier university, the significance of women’s representation in leadership and the value of inclusive, human-centred leadership in higher education.
Prof. Amfo also discussed her vision for the University, her leadership philosophy and how international exchange continues to enhance academic excellence and empower women in research and administration.
