A delegation from the Legon Interdenominational Church (LIC), led by the Church Administrator, Mr. K.K. Ohene-Adu, has generously donated ten laptops in support of the One Student One Laptop (1S1L) initiative.
Mr. K.K. Ohene-Adu, stated that as a sign of good neighbourliness, it was imperative for the Church to support the vision of the 1S1L. He expressed confidence that the laptops will aid learning and research at the University.

Prof. Gordon Awandare, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs (ASA), who received the laptops, expressed the University’s appreciation to the Church for the support. He outlined the VC's three-pronged areas to driving digitalisation at the University to achieve the desired standard of education; and highlighted the University's desire for continued partnership in the other areas of improving students’ experience on campus.
Prof. Peter Quartey, Chairman of the 1S1L Implementation Committee and Director of the Institute of Statistical, Social, and Economic Research (ISSER), gave an overview of the Vice-Chancellor's vision to digitally transform the UG student experience. He provided an update on the laptops disbursed so far, noting that the Church’s donation is timely, as the next disbursement is due in a week’s time.
Dr. Elizier T. Ameyaw-Buronyah, Director, Public Affairs Directorate, who moderated the event, extended an invitation to the Church executives and members to attend the next disbursement ceremony.
Also present were Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah, Registrar; Mrs. Arhizah Blay-Abiti, Senior Assistant Registrar, Office of the Vice-Chancellor; Mrs. Maamie Hutchful-Nortey, Secretary,1S1L Implementation Committee and Madam Shirley Quaye, Accountant, LIC.
