Investment from our alumni and strategic partnerships will drive UG’s vision – VC at UG Advance 2025

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, has reiterated the University’s commitment to its alumni and called for greater investment and collaboration from stakeholders to advance the institution’s long-term vision.
She made the remarks at UG Advance 2025, the University’s flagship annual engagement with alumni in industry, organised by the Institutional Advancement Directorate and held under the theme “Executing Excellence: Navigating Strategy and Operational Mastery.”

Prof. Amfo noted that investment from alumni and strategic partnerships, particularly in the form of scholarships and infrastructure support, will drive UG’s vision, highlighting the critical role alumni and stakeholders play in advancing the goals of the University’s 2024–2029 Strategic Plan.
The event featured a keynote address by Mr. Kimathi Kuenyehia, Managing Partner at Kimathi & Partners, who detailed the importance of transparency, accountability and sound governance in shaping effective strategies and operations.

A thought-provoking alumni-led panel discussion on “Reimagining the UG-Alumni Relationship” explored practical ideas to strengthen alumni engagement and deepen partnerships for mutual growth.
A special highlight of the event was the unveiling of the University of Ghana Alumni Flag, a new symbol of unity, identity and pride among the UG alumni community.
UG Advance 2025 demonstrates the University’s commitment to leverage engagement and partnerships to provide a transformative student experience and conduct impactful research.
