Eric Danquah Foundation Awards Scholarship to Final-Year University of Ghana Student

The Eric Danquah Foundation (EDF), through its flagship programme, The Highflyers in Plant Breeding & Genetics Programme, has awarded a scholarship to Mohammed Sani Mohammed, a final-year student at the University of Ghana studying for a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture (Crop Science option).

Mohammed received the scholarship based on merit, having been the top-performing student in the Level 300 Genetics course. His award covers his full accommodation fees and includes a brand-new laptop to support his academic work.

Beyond the financial support, the scholarship offers mentorship, an important feature of the EDF Scholarship Programme, designed to help students strengthen their academic skills and prepare for their future careers.

Reflecting on the award, Mohammed expressed his heartfelt gratitude to EDF Founder, Professor Eric Yirenkyi Danquah, highlighting that the scholarship has made it possible for him to live on campus and focus better on his studies.

“I am especially excited about the mentorship programme, which I believe will greatly shape my academic and professional path,” he said.
