The awarding of the 2022 "Chinese Ambassador Scholarship" was successfully concluded

 

The awarding of the Confucius Institute China Ambassador Scholarship for the 2021-2022 academic year at the University of Ghana was successfully concluded. After careful preparation and rigorous selection, the Confucius Institute of the University of Ghana has finally selected 86 outstanding students of this year. Among them, 59 outstanding students from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of the University of Ghana were awarded, accounting for 75.5% of the total scholarship. This year's Ambassadorial Scholarships cover a wide range of areas and aim to stimulate more students' enthusiasm for learning. The beneficiaries cover primary, secondary and primary school students, accounting for 2.6% of the total enrollment. Due to the impact of the third wave of epidemic, monkeypox virus and Marburg virus transmission, this scholarship will still be awarded after receiving by each teaching site.

The annual "Ambassador Scholarship" event is a very important activity of Confucius Institute and various teaching sites at the University of Ghana. The principal of each teaching site will come to Confucius Institute of the University of Ghana to receive the scholarship in batches.

"On behalf of the students, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Chinese Embassy in Ghana. For the students, this scholarship was enough to support their family for one month," said Seth, director of Blessed Harmony Teaching site.

Ayawuli Richmond, a first-class Scholarship recipient, said, "I am honored and proud to receive the Ambassador Scholarship. I will work harder to learn Chinese and actively participate in the cultural activities of Confucius Institute. I will also learn more about the booming contemporary China and tell the stories of China in my eyes to people around me."

Cudjoe Perpetual, the recipient, said: "This scholarship is not only a real solution to my difficulties in study and life, but also an affirmation and encouragement for my efforts in learning Chinese. I will carry this encouragement with me as I go forward."

The Chinese Embassy in Ghana has established the "Chinese Ambassador Scholarship" program, which aims to inspire more outstanding Chinese learners to continue their efforts and encourage more people to learn Chinese language and understand Chinese culture.
