DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY
The Adu Boahen Memorial Library and Archive, (ADMLA) is a new facility located at the Department of History in the School of Arts, within the College of Humanities in the University of Ghana. It seeks to employ a versatile individual for appointment to serve as the ADMLA Manager on a two-year contract. The ADMLA hosts Professor Adu Boahen’s personal papers and books as its core collection alongside the collections of the Department of History. It serves as a reference-only library and archive.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
1. The applicant must:
a. Possess a Master’s degree in Information Studies with Archival option or a Master’s degree in Archival Studies or a Master’s degree in Administration.
b. Must show evidence of having worked in an archive for at least 2 years.
2. Required knowledge, ability, and skills include:
a. Knowledge in Information Technology
b. Knowledge in Management of MS Office Suite
c. Possession of Good Interpersonal Relationships
d. Ability to be a Team Player
JOB ROLE
The applicant would be required to:
a. Plan activities in accordance with the set objectives of the ADMLA
b. Initiate and implement programmes; including Adu Boahen Memorial Lectures
c. Develop the strategic vision and manage the facility within the framework of the University.
d. Network with other Africana Libraries within the Sub-Region and around the Globe.
e. Liaise with the Department of History and other stakeholders.
Job Type: Two-Year Contract Appointment
