DIPLOMA IN YOUTH IN DEVELOPMENT WORK APPLICATION -- 2015-2016
The University of Ghana in collaboration with the Commonwealth Youth Programme (C Y P), Africa Centre Lusaka, Zambia and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ghana, offers a diploma programme in Youth in Development Work, a Commonwealth-wide initiative to train people engaged in youth and development activities.
MODE OF DELIVERY
The programme is delivered through a supported distance learning mode. This is supported by occasional meetings with course tutors at designated study centres. End of semester examinations are conducted at the main campus of the University of Ghana, Legon.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Category A: Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination:
· Credit passes (C6 or better for WASSCE and D or better for SSCE holders) in three core subjects which must include English and Mathematics.
· Credit passes in any two relevant electives.
Applicants in this category will not be required to write any entrance examination. Selection will be based on results submitted by the close of applications.
Category B: Mature Applicants
Mature applicants aged 27 years and above by 31st January 2015 may apply. Applicants in this category will be required to write and pass a competitive entrance examination to be conducted by the University of Ghana. APPLICANTS ARE EXPECTED TO TAKE A PREPARATORY COURSE ORGANISED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF ADULT EDUCACTION & HUMAN RESOURCE STUDIES, SCHOOL OF CONTINUING AND DISTANCE EDUCATION OF THE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, UNIVERSITY OF GHANA AT ITS TWELVE (12) REGIONAL CENTRES between 28th February and 12th April, 2015 to prepare them to write the competitive entrance examination.
Only candidates who participate in the Department’s preparatory course will be eligible to take the entrance examination.
Application Deadline: April 10, 2015. Competitive entrance examination for Category B candidates (Mature Applicants) is on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the University of Ghana Main Campus (‘N’ Block) at 8:00 a. m
Registration form for Preparatory Course: GHC 50.00
Tuition fee: GHC 300.00 (Payable at the School of Continuing and Distance Education offices).

Saturday, March 21 – Sunday, March 22, 2015 - 2:00 p.m – 6:00 p.m
Saturday, March 28 – Sunday, March 29, 2015 - 2:00 p.m – 6:00 p.m
Saturday, April 11 – Sunday, April 12, 2015 - 2:00 p.m – 6:00 p.m
