About
Phyllis holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Occupational and Technical Education from the Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA. Dr. Kwarteng Donkor is an ardent advocate for girl child education, especially among traditional rulers and religious leaders, and has organized and co-organized various training programs encouraging girls into STEM education and leadership positions in school and their communities. For several years she was a lecturer at the Languages and General Studies Department of Energy and Natural Resources. She is currently a lecturer at the Teacher Education Department of the University of Ghana, where she also provides counselling and guidance to students, mentoring and finding funds for those in need. She is also the minister in charge at the Christ the King Methodist Church, in the Akweteman Circuit of the Northern Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana.

Her research interests are in female participation, persistence and success in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM); Gender and Leadership; Flourishing in Academia; Game-based Learning and pedagogies; Project based pedagogies and developing requisite 21st century skills among learners; Climate Smart Agriculture; and community development.
