Research Interests: Dr. Rabiu K. B. Asante’s major research interests include technology and society, ICT and informal markets, mHealth, digital gaming, social network, smart governance, and digital research in Ghana and Africa. He has considerable experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis having worked with UNICEF, WHO, North West University (South Africa), and the University of South Florida (USA) using data science tools such as SPSS, R, STATA, Atlasti, QSR Nvivo, Excel and Tableau on different projects. With regards to teaching, he spends a large portion of his time teaching data science across different undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Research abstract:
Dr. Rabiu K. B. Asante is currently investigating the digital space of sports gamblers in Ghana. With the increasing presence of social media there are a number of tangential issues that are of interest to him. Consequently, he is also collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to design digital gaming interventions for mental health programmes.
