Academic Qualifications
Dr. Franklin Glozah is a Public Health Psychologist with research interests focusing generally on adolescent health and well-being. Specifically, he is interested in psychosocial risk and protective factors influencing mental health and health behaviour (e.g. gambling, substance use, violence, physical activity, eating habits). Dr. Glozah is also interested in implementation research around these areas and intervention co-creation, which extends to include tropical and infectious diseases of poverty. He has expertise in both quantitative and qualitative methods and psychometrics in instrument development and validation. He has several years of teaching experience in higher education, and prior to joining the School of Public Health had held various academic positions including Head of Department and Dean of Faculty. He teaches courses in Fundamentals of Implementation Research, Social Sciences Data Management and Report Writing, Statistics for Social Sciences, and Psychological Influence on Health. Dr. Glozah is the Focal Person of the WHO/TDR Global Africa node since 2019 responsible for driving and encouraging mentoring of young scientists/researchers and fostering research collaborations among the TDR Global community across Africa. Also, he supports or organises crowdsourcing contests soliciting views on how to improve research mentorship in LMICs. Dr. Glozah is the University of Ghana representative on the Public Health Steering Group of the Worldwide Universities Network.
