Head of Department's Welcome

Welcome to the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The Department is one of the seven academic entities of the School of Public Health.  Our area of work focuses on social and behavioral aspects of health interventions and implementation science. The general area of interest and research strength of our faculty lies in health education, promotion and communication, reproductive health, gender and health, mental health, and health systems research. We offer Master of Science and Master of Philosopher Programmes in Applied Health Social Science and also contribute to the teaching of the Master of Public Health Programme. On a yearly basis we have over 20 students working towards MSc and MPH degrees and over 5 research students working towards PhD degree in Public Health in areas of research interest of the Department.
