The Department of Physical Education and Sport Studies (PESS), under the School of Education and Leadership, College of Education, was established to fill in gaps in the sport and physical education ecosystem in Ghana to produce the needed practitioners who have the theoretical, practical, and managerial skills needed for effective and efficient administration within the sport industry.
About the Department
The core mandate of the department is to train and prepare students for both industry and academia. This is done through cutting edge teaching, learning, and research to shape the next generation of dynamic professionals in sport and physical education.
PESS focuses on developing leaders in sports management, sport education, and health education and promotion. Our curriculum blends theory and practice across key areas, such as sports management, physical education, sports governance, and administration.
