Dr. Mavis Asare is a Lecturer at the Department of Physical Education and Sport Studies. She is a Commonwealth Scholar who obtained a PhD degree in Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences at Loughborough University, UK. She has a post-doctorate qualification in Psychopharmacology at RXP International, U.S.A.

Professional Experience:
Her academic background at the university education has been in the area of Clinical Psychology. As a result, she works as a Clinical Sports Psychology Practitioner (PT). She has over 15 years’ experience in teaching and 18 years’ experience in psychology practice.

Research Interest

Her interest includes cognitive behavior therapeutic approaches in the treatment of Psychological Disorders among athletes and Professionals in Sport. She also has a special interest in Psychological procedures in the prevention of Mental Health problems among young people and juvenile athletes.
