About

Dr. (Mrs.) Florence O. Entsua-Mensah is a dedicated lecturer who brings over two decades of practical experience in library and information science to her teaching and research. She also serves on various university committees and boards, including the University of Ghana’s Academic Board and the 2nd College of Education Pen Ceremony. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she coordinates the Information Studies course in the Distance Education programme and acts as a course advisor for Level 200 students. Among her research interests, she is currently exploring topics on traditional knowledge systems and ethical concerns in generative artificial intelligence (AI) and “The influence of generative AI-powered search engines on information seeking behaviour of students." She is particularly excited to explore these areas further. As a course advisor, one of the recurring pieces of advice that Dr. Entsua-Mensah gives to new students is to be curious and adapt to the evolving field of information studies. Looking ahead, she emphasises the importance of critical information literacy, information security, and developing strong data literacy skills for future information professionals.
