About

Dr. Patience Emefa Dzandza Ocloo researches and teaches on how information and information systems are used to meet information needs of individuals and organizations. Beyond her work in academia, Dr. Ocloo contributes to the information ecosystem at the international, regional and national levels by contributing to policy initiatives and interventions through her work as an Expert on UNESCO Expert Hub for Memory of the World in Africa, a member of the International Panel on the Information Environment and a member of the Multi-stakeholder Advisory Board for UNESCO's Internet Universality Indicators for Ghana. 

Education

She holds a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts and Master of Philosophy Degrees from the University of Ghana and obtained a PhD from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa.

Research Interest

Her research interests and expertise span across digital inclusion, social media use, digital scholarship, information behaviour, and community engagement in the context of developing countries. Her scholarly pursuits are strongly rooted in understanding how technology intersects with society, particularly in the areas of formal and informal economies, governance, and academic libraries.
