Undergraduate Summer Exchange Program

The Department of Geography and Resource Development, the University of Ghana, in

partnership with the Department of Geography, Planning and International Development,

University of Amsterdam, organised a summer exchange for 22 undergraduate students from the

8th to 18th June 2019.

The exchange was initiated by Dr Austin Dziwornu Ablo and Professor Maarten Bavinck and

brought together 14 students from each institution to work on selected research themes. The

exchange program entailed training in research methodology, students’ fieldworks and a guest

lecture by Professor Alex Asiedu on tourism in Ghana.

The summer exchange offered students from both institutions a practical learning experience

through inter-cultural research collaboration.
