Prof Joseph Teye wins Canada Excellence Research Chair Scholar of Excellence Award

Professor Joseph Kofi Teye, the Director of Research, Innovation and Development and former Director of the Center for Migration Studies, University of Ghana, was awarded the prestigius "Visiting Scholar of Excellence" position by Canada Excellence Research Chair on Migration and Integration based at Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada. The Department of Geography and Resource Development is proud of you Prof Teye.

DONATION OF TRIMBLE CATALYST TO THE DEPARTMENT OF GEOGRAPHY AND RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT

On 17th November, 2020, the management of Sambus Geospatial Limited presented a Trimble Catalyst device to the Department

of Geography and Resource Development to aid the operations of the GIS Lab. Present at the ceremony were Messers John Lamptey

The Department of Geography and Resource Development, the University of Ghana, in

partnership with the Department of Geography, Planning and International Development,

University of Amsterdam, organised a summer exchange for 22 undergraduate students from the

8th to 18th June 2019.

Students Tour of Obuasi Mine (AngloGoldAshanti)

Forty-nine students from the University of Ghana, Department of Geography and Resource Development visited the mine. The visit which was led by Professor Martin Oteng Ababio, Head of Department, was to expose the students to the mining industry and afford them the opportunity to better appreciate the practicality of their studies.
