This course provides students with the necessary skills to apply in designing a digital circuit. The content of this course include :History and overview of digital logic. Switching theory: Boolean and switching algebra, representation, and manipulations of functions, minimization of functions. Combinational Logic, Design of Combinational Circuits: multiplexers, arithmetic functions, subtractors, multipliers and dividers, arithmetic, and logic units. Memory Elements: basic circuits for latches, clocked and unclocked memory devices, basic Flip-Flops, asynchronous flip-flop, timing constraints, data registers, random access memory. Sequential Logic Circuit: finite state machines (FSM), synchronous and asynchronous circuits and analysis, design of synchronous sequential circuits, sequential functional unit
