This course provides students with the comprehensive understanding of digital forensics and investigation tools and techniques. The topics covered include the acquisition, recovery, documentation, and analysis of information contained within and created with computer systems and computing devices. Digital evidence methods and standards, techniques, and standards for the preservation of data, application forensics, web forensics, network forensics, mobile device forensics, and information security audit. Labs and projects consist of hands-on exercises that reinforce the subject matter. This course is designed to prepare the student to work quickly in digital forensics and productive. The course provides the student with experience in system and evidence documentation, analysis reporting, and presentation.
