The United Nations International Day of Older Persons - 2019

The Centre for Ageing Studies, University of Ghana, Legon, is organising its annual event for older persons entitled: International Day of Older Persons. This day is celebrated for older persons and senior citizens around the world to create awareness on the needs and challenges faced by the elderly. This programme will bring together academics, stakeholders, NGO’s and the elderly members of the Ghanaian society to discuss the way forward and how we can promote a healthy and inclusive society for all ages. The theme for this year’s programme is “The Future We Want: What Older Persons Are Saying”. The programme will comprise a health screening, counselling, dance and fitness and a talk on wellness.

We wish to invite all who are above fifty years to join us celebrate and empower the elderly. It will be held on the 1st October, 2019, at the Great Hall, University of Ghana, Legon.
