AQAD MEETING WITH GRASSAG – LEGON EXECUTIVES
One of the mandates of the AQAD is to seek feedback from students on their academic experiences. In line with this mandate, the AQAD met with the leadership of GRASSAG on 6th December 2023 at the AQAU conference room. The objective of the meeting was to interact with the new executive and discuss with them avenues for collaboration.
The Director, Prof. Twerefou welcomed the Members and briefed them on the work of the Directorate which revolves around monitoring, evaluation, auditing, standards development, and accreditation facilitation, among others. The Director also expressed a heartfelt congratulation to both the president and the secretary for their well-deserved appointments.

In his response, the president of GRASSAG Mr. Claudius B. Angsongna thanked the Directorate for the good work they are doing and took the opportunity to elaborate on some of the challenges graduate students are facing which included, thesis supervision and marking, accommodation, funding for research and equipment in some of the science labs. He also informed the meeting that his outfit is prepared to collaborate with the Directorate to ensure that students’ experiences are improved. The Director requested that the collaboration start with the dissemination of information on a study done by the Directorate on the experience of students and lecturers in graduate programmes and training on the use of AI in research. After a lengthy discussion on many other issues, both parties agreed to start the collaboration with the determination and training programme.
