Department of Animal Science provides the Animal Science component of the BSc. Agriculture Programme of the School of Agriculture. The Department also runs postgraduate courses leading to the award of MAgric/MPhil/PhD in Animal Science with specialization in one of the following areas: Animal Breeding and Genetics, Animal Nutrition, Animal Physiology, Meat Science and Technology, Microbiology and Immunology and Range and Forage Management. This is possible because of our state-of-the-art Molecular Genetics Laboratory, the Cameron Meat Science and Technology Laboratory, the Immunology and Microbiology Laboratory and the Animal Nutrition Laboratory. The Department also benefits from facilities and expertise at the Livestock and Poultry Research Centre (LIPREC) of the University of Ghana.
