Rev. Sr. Florence Awoniyi holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics Education from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Her research interests are in Assessment in Education, Affect in Mathematics Education, Relationships in Mathematics Classroom, Teaching and Learning of Mathematics content, Scholarships and Internationalization, Educational Statistics, Mathematics teacher education, and professional development. Her career goals include teaching her students 21st-century problem-solving skills and making mathematics relevant to their everyday lives. She is a member of International Group for Psychology of Mathematics Education. She is a Catholic nun and a member of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus. She enjoys giving speeches to youngsters and couples, especially on St. Valentine Day. She is currently a mathematics education lecturer at the Teacher Education Department, University of Ghana, where she also provides counselling and guidance to students, supervises student research, and mentors as needed.
