• Vision

The Department of Teacher Education strives to be a leading teaching department for pre-service and in-service teachers in Ghana and the West African sub-region.

• Mission

Our mission is to address the needs of the people of Ghana and beyond and deliver well trained teachers in Secondary and Basic Education. Our commitment is to produce teachers capable of meeting the needs of their countries and regions while being globally competitive. Our students will be exposed to a modern teaching and learning environment to be applied in their teaching context.

• Objectives

The Department of Teacher Education seeks to:

• Improve content and pedagogy in teacher education;
• Produce graduates who are knowledgeable in their curriculum area;
• Meet the training requirements of learners from various backgrounds; and
• Produce graduates who can adapt to a wide range of instructional situations.
