His current research work aims at identifying and enhancing host factors/products against infectious diseases such as tuberculosis (TB) using nutritive agents/substances such as omega-3 fatty acids, in a novel research area known as host-directed therapeutics, as alternative and innovative adjunct therapy disease management strategies. To this end, he uses repurposed drugs, gene knockdown as well as gene-deficient murine models.
